Bridging the Archipelago: Toward More Effective Coordination and Collaboration in Philanthropy

Even in a field that is frequently characterized as atomized and individualistic, grantmakers are finding new imperatives to align their efforts for greater impact. Yet collaboration is a demanding process, and you may sometimes wonder if it’s more work than actual results merit. What models exist for funders to work together along the continuum of coordination and collaboration? How can you assess the prospects of a potential collaboration? What key leadership commitments and actions must you take to ensure its success? Join your fellow foundation leaders to probe the potential and limits of building greater alignment among funders, focusing on some of the unique considerations and levers at the executive and trustee level. Harvard Professor James Honan will lead the highly interactive leadership discussion at this luncheon session.
