Towards a 21st Century Public Education: A Forum on Building Student Imagination, Creativity and Life Skills through the Arts and New Technologies
Co-Presented by Grantmakers for Education and Grantmakers in the Arts
5/30/2008 to 5/31/2008
Boston, MA

Grantmakers went deeper into the learning and discussions begun at last fall’s Arts & Education Weekend in Santa Fe, co-sponsored by GFE and Grantmakers in the Arts, at our second joint program last May 30 and 31 in Boston: Towards a 21st Century Public Education—A Forum on Building Student Imagination, Creativity and Life Skills through the Arts and New Technologies. Through discussions with researchers, inventors and government leaders and visits to innovative Boston Public School sites—grantmakers examined how the arts and technology can be powerful partners in raising student achievement and how one region has tackled the challenge of arts integration in part through an extended learning time approach.
