Management Capacity in Youth-Serving Organizations: Why it Matters, Where it is Lacking, and What Funders Can Do
11:00am-12:30pm PST/2:00pm-3:30pm EST
11/17/2008

Funding for out-of-school time programs has grown rapidly - and so have expectations that programs will be of demonstrably high quality. But do OST organizations have the management capacity to deliver what funders and communities expect?  Funders often make OST investments in programs and services, with less attention directed to the management capacity of providers.  And, for those of us who consider capacity-building, there is little information to draw upon to help identify high leverage interventions.

This webinar, presented by the Grantmakers for Education Out-of-School Time Funders Network and the Wallace Foundation, will explore a recent study of 16 OST organizations' management capacity completed by Fiscal Management Associates (FMA) for The Wallace Foundation. Hilda Polanco, Managing Director of FMA will present the study's findings. OST providers in Chicago and New York City have been invited to respond, and the agenda will include time for open discussion. Download the study at http://www.wallacefoundation.org
