Fostering innovation in American education is an important priority of President Obama’s education agenda. Philanthropy’s own Jim Shelton (formerly program director with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation) was recently appointed to lead this effort within the Department of Education. You are invited to join Jim and GFE on a special teleconference to explore the Innovation Fund’s goals, how it fits within the Race to the Top Fund, the opportunities that exist for education grantmakers, and recent updates from the Department regarding the education portions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Although we will not take questions during the call, we encourage call participants to submit questions when they register for the call. GFE will select a number of these questions and will pose them to Jim during our conversation.
