Grantmakers for Education

Montgomery, AL

July 24-26, 2024

A Montgomery Study Tour

Join Grantmakers for Education in Montgomery, Alabama on July 24-26 for a study tour focused on education and equity in the American South. We invite funders to join us in exploring the importance of place with as we think about the legacy of anti-Black racism in the United States, spotlight equity and justice movements in the South, and explore what this means for philanthropy at a moment when education investments in the South are decreasing.

During the study tour, attendees will visit The Legacy Sites, a trio of sites that document the history and impact of racial injustice in the United States. Attendees will also have the opportunity to explore how intersecting systems of oppression impact and are impacted by education and connect with funders investing in the region. We believe this study tour will be transformational, and we’re excited to engage in deep reflection and connection with partners like you.

This event is intended for members and other education grantmakers. Registration deadline extended to July 17. Space is limited so register soon!
