Rural Community Colleges – Big Opportunities and Stubborn Barriers

Rural community colleges provide a critical link. They provide small-town residents with trade jobs, technical certifications and college degrees. Compared to statewide demographics, rural colleges encounter higher levels of low-income students and certain BIPOC groups. They also create paths for success for these students in creative partnerships with businesses, local organizations and K-12 school districts.
