2022 Appalachian Community Philanthropy Retreat

Philanthropy West Virginia

Roanoke, West Virginia

The theme this year is Building Community and Finding Strength. Over this two day gathering, we will deepen and grow our relationships with peer organizations, learning and sharing for the benefit of all. We know that when we collaborate on common goals and when we troubleshoot our struggles collectively, we can go further together than we ever could alone.

This program of excellence is for Appalachian and rural community foundations, United Ways, and other public funders. The two day in-depth training, collaborating, and networking conference will host national, Appalachian region, West Virginia, and local experts, leaders, and partners to advance your organization’s asset development, community grantmaking, policy advocacy, and community leadership.

Untapped Partnerships: How Out-of-School Time Networks Can Support Pathways

As young people navigate an increasingly complex and rapidly evolving job market, out-of-school time (OST) programs represent an untapped but uniquely positioned partner in a pathways ecosystem. OST programs offer flexible, innovative, and engaging experiences that extend learning and career preparation beyond the classroom. This webinar will explore how OST providers and statewide afterschool networks can serve as natural allies to education, industry, and workforce intermediary partners, creating innovative pathways for career awareness, exploration, and preparation that meet both youth and employer needs.
