Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees Biennial National Convening

We're thrilled to share that GCIR's Biennial National Convening will take place October 20-22, 2026, in Baltimore, Maryland.

Our convening will offer a valuable space to deepen our relationships, energize our spirits, and strengthen our strategies to advance immigrant and refugee justice.

This year’s convening theme, Defend | Defy | Dare: Solidarity in Action, reflects our determination to move philanthropy to act at a moment when immigrant communities are facing relentless cruelty. The convening will provide a more intimate experience than in previous years, with programming intentionally crafted to meet the desire for collaboration in this moment while creating a safe, community-oriented space and strengthening strategic approaches to meet the challenges and opportunities we are facing. The final day of our convening will be exclusively strategy-focused so that participants can apply the education and energy built from the first two days into practical action.

At the convening, you will meet funder peers from across the country, see critical work taking place with local migrant communities, and learn how philanthropy can work across movements to build strong, welcoming, fully inclusive communities.
