Grantmakers for Education, the Philanthropic Collaborative for Education, and Education Commission of the States seek to build a partnership between the political, professional, and philanthropic forces in education that could stimulate the kind of cooperation that is crucial to the future of American education. The lack of cohesion between policy, practice and philanthropy does not meet the current or future needs to build or sustain an effective education system and further exacerbates the inefficiencies of public funding for education. The next 10 years present a unique opportunity as federal actions accelerate the devolution of authority to states. Since states have the primary responsibility of education, we hope to collaborate with states in navigating current federal changes and preparing for probable changes through the 48th presidential term.

Join us for the State of Play, a pre-conference session at the National Forum on Education Policy to deepen our conversations and strengthen our collaboration. We will:

    • Learn what’s top of mind for state policymakers to address;
    • Lean into philanthropic benchmarking and strategies that affect education; and
    • Lead the first iteration of developing a framework that harnesses state infrastructure.

While this session is open only to foundations and corporate partners, the conference is open to a wider group of stakeholders.
