OST Call Series: Supporting Leadership of Color in the Afterschool Sector and the NAA Progress Report

Grantmakers for Education

Virtual

July 17, 2020

With support from the S.D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation, in January 2020 NAA launched the Building Capacity for Leaders of Color Initiative, focused on intentionally and effectively building a leadership pipeline for people of color in the field. NAA launched a professional learning community for emerging leaders of color and published an initial report outlining recommendations for organizations to identify and address systemic barriers to hiring and supporting leaders of color. Join us to discuss early results and what’s next for the project with:

  • Gina Warner, President and CEO, National Afterschool Association
  • Christina Russell, Managing Director, Policy Study Associates
  • Jimena Quiroga Hopkins, Founder and Principal, Thrive Paradigm
  • Alexis Llamas, Associate Program Officer, Education, S.D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation
