Using Healing-Centered Engagement to Address Youth Trauma & Mental Health: Out-of-School Time Monthly Field Convening
March 17, 2023, 12:00 pm ET
Resources: Flourish Agenda Overview Presentation
Join the OST Impact Group in our Monthly Field Convening for a conversation with Dr. Shawn Ginwright. He will share insights into how racial and social inequality create trauma and how we can create a climate of healing, restoration and well-being. Dr. Ginwright uses the term, “Healing Centered Engagement,” to offer an expansive perspective of young people and a holistic approach that restores well-being among young people who experience trauma. Healing Centered Engagement builds upon trauma-informed frameworks by supporting systems to shift from harm, discipline, punishment and confinement to restoration, hope, and healing. You’ll learn how youth-serving organizations can equip young people to support peers through trauma and mental health challenges.
