Join the EdFunders Out-of-School Time Impact Group for an ongoing conversation with funders, practitioners and other field leaders centered on learning about and with the out-of-school time sector, focusing on essential issues in OST now and in the future. Each video call will dive into a specific content area, challenge, and/or opportunity for the field and feature experts in the sector and philanthropy.

About the Speakers

Jenna Courtney

Jenna Courtney

Jenna Courtney joined TXPOST in 2019, bringing more than a decade of policy making and advocacy experience from her time in and around the Texas Legislature. Through her work, she seeks policy solutions and strives to develop diverse champions to drive progress and change in complex systems. She has extensive experience developing and managing nuanced and multi-faceted issue management campaigns that bridge media, government, and public relations to provide unified and targeted messages to engage stakeholders and influence decision makers. Under her leadership, TXPOST has expanded its suite of services and supports, grown its staff, developed deeper and more extensive relationships across Texas, and applied metrics to measure success against organizational goals and objectives.

Prior to joining TXPOST, Jenna worked for Imperium Public Affairs in Austin. Jenna’s advocacy and strategic guidance was instrumental in passing revolutionary legislation that enabled the first-ever widespread analysis of afterschool programs—legislation that is becoming a model for afterschool education across the nation.


Chris Neitzy

Afterschool Alliance

Chris Neitzey is the Director of State Policy for Afterschool Alliance. He joined the Afterschool Alliance in August 2018 as the Director of STEM Initiatives. Prior to joining the Afterschool Alliance, Chris led the policy and advocacy work of the New York State Network for Youth Success, New York’s statewide afterschool network. Chris also worked for the Maryland Science Center prior to his work in New York, delivering STEM programs to students in-school and in afterschool programs across the mid-Atlantic region. Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography from Towson University and a master’s in Nonprofit Management from Northeastern University.


Erin Skene-Pratt

Michigan Afterschool Partnership

Erin Skene-Pratt serves as Executive Director for the Michigan Afterschool Partnership. In this role, Erin works directly with key partners & staff to develop, lead, coordinate and drive the network’s initiatives. Erin brings to MASP over 20 years of experience as a leader and catalyst for change in the nonprofit sector. With a strategic outlook, Erin specializes in policy work, fundraising, network/coalition building, board development and facilitation. Prior to consulting for 12 years with national, state and local nonprofit organizations – Erin served as the Senior Director of Public Affairs for the Michigan Nonprofit Association for 10 year, where she led the policy, communications and research work for the association.

The Michigan Afterschool Partnership champions statewide access to quality and equitable Out-of-School Time (OST) programs to ensure that all children and youth succeed.


Kinyatta Trice

MGeorgia Statewide Afterschool Network

Dr. Kinyatta Trice is the Associate Director of the Georgia Statewide Afterschool Network (GSAN), where she leads the Building Opportunities in Out-of-School Time (BOOST) Grants Program, a public–private partnership between GSAN and the Georgia Department of Education. She oversees BOOST’s multi‑year grant implementation, coordinates comprehensive technical assistance, and supports program quality improvement for organizations serving youth across Georgia.

With 17 years of community engagement experience, including 13 years in education research and evaluation, Dr. Trice brings expertise in equity-centered program design and analysis. She holds a BA in Political Science from Mercer University, an MA in African American Studies, and a PhD in Educational Policy Studies from Georgia State University.
