Improving Job Quality in the Youth Development Field: Out-of-School Time Stakeholder Convening
June 24, 12:00 pm ET
Creating a Thriving OST Workforce: Slide deck
Topic: Improving Job Quality in the Youth Development Field
In Fall 2021, the OST Impact Group hosted a series of conversations in its monthly stakeholder calls about the youth development workforce. The discussions addressed challenges and emerging solutions to hiring and retaining staff; policy opportunities; strategies for building diverse pipelines of leaders in the field; and thinking about a comprehensive agenda that could lead to systems level change to support the workforce.
On June 24 from 12-1 pm ET, we will revisit the workforce discussions and learn about the National Afterschool Association’s (NAA) efforts to acknowledge the need and improve job quality for the afterschool/OST field. You’ll learn about NAA’s emerging framework for increasing job quality and its recommendations to the field including policy and research implications. This will be an interactive session, and participants will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the framework and recommendations.
Please join funders and other field leaders to learn about these emerging efforts and how you can help move the work forward.
