Side by Side: Centering and Promoting Equity in Early Education

Early Childhood Funders Collaborative

Virtual

Transformation of the early childhood system to meet the needs of diverse children and families is unlikely to come as a single decision or sweeping policy change. Instead, it will require a shift in mindset in order to listen and learn from those that most directly care for young children every day. Driven by the insights of those who have been historically unrecognized and are most impacted by existing inequities–Black, Indigenous, Latine, and other people of color, Side by Side: Centering and Promoting Equity in Early Education is an invitation to join the ever-evolving story of transformation within the field by “listening to learn.” Funders are invited to join ECFC for an interactive and reflective session on how funders can utilize this tool to think about philanthropic investments in a way that fully centers communities in order to catalyze meaningful and lasting change.
