The Teacher Residency Return on Investment: A Pathway that Prepares Effective and Diverse Teachers Who Stay

The Hunt Institute

Virtual

January 27, 2:00pm ET

The COVID-19 pandemic turned a looming teacher shortage into one that is both immediate and severe. As we look forward, we must not only consider ways to fill labor gaps, but to build a stronger and more diverse educator pipeline. Fortunately, a growing body of evidence points to teacher residencies as one effective preparation model, allowing individuals to spend a school year learning in an expert mentor teacher’s classroom while simultaneously completing community-based, clinically-aligned coursework. Join The Hunt Institute as we partner with the National Center for Teacher Residencies for a conversation around how teacher residency programs prepare and retain effective and diverse teachers.
