These completion rates have intensified concerns over a widening skills gap, prompting calls to redesign postsecondary education through lifelong learning models that integrate strong education-employer partnerships. This research is the product of a unique research fellowship facilitated through Grantmakers for Education and the Society for Research on Educational Effectiveness (SREE).

Commonly known as students with some credit, no credential (SCNC), this student population has increased the urgency of the college completion crisis.
