Parents 2026: Shifting Mindsets in a Time of Disruption
Learning Heroes’ tenth annual national parent survey reveals shifting mindsets and new opportunities. Parents have high expectations for their children and are gaining a more realistic picture of their academic progress. Those who know their children are behind worry differently and are more likely to take action. Amid evolving views on AI and technology, the findings point to a powerful opportunity: using curriculum to strengthen family-school partnerships by giving parents greater visibility into what their children are learning, a greater voice in their education, and practical ways to support learning at home.

Across the 55 largest US metro areas, institutions are producing roughly 30% of the credentials needed to fill middle-skills springboard occupations – the occupations that offer workers above-median earnings at the start of their careers and strong wage growth over time, compared with other middle-skills work. This tool shows where providers are awarding too few credentials to meet employer demand; how severe the shortages are; and where providers, employers, and policymakers can work together to address these shortfalls.
